Open House at Salem Middle School will be on August 16, 2016 from 4:30--6:00pm. We will begin with a mass meeting in the cafeteria at 4:30pm to discuss expectations, new rules, etc. and then at 4:50pm we will begin our "mock" school day. Each class will be five minutes in length with a two minute passing period. During class time, teachers will discuss their classroom and answer any questions parents may have. At the end of the eight hour "mock" day, we will have approximately 15 minutes for parents to re-visit any teacher with further questions. Please bring your child's schedule with you to Open House in order to follow their daily schedule. See you on August 16th!

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education says the goal for every school in Missouri is 90% of the students in attendance 90% of the time. At Salem Middle School we have a small percentage of students who are hovering in the 89--91% range. PARENTS~~we need your help! There are 31.5 days left in the school year. We need all students here during this time to help us reach the goal of 90/90. In addition, students with minimal absences tend to be more successful academically. So help us help your student to be successful by having them come to school.

This article will help differentiate the two and provide parents with some guidance.
